PRIOR TO APPLYING

Before you decide to apply you should be sure that you can answer the following questions with a clear and honest “Yes”:

  1. Are you at least 18 years old?

Are you aware that:

  1. Working as a volunteer in the field can be very hard and time consuming?
  2. While your work to protect and preserve humanities will certainly be educational, interesting and exciting at times, and always rewarding, volunteer work can also be tedious, repetitive, and boring sometimes?
  3. There won’t be much free time besides work and that you will miss out on sleep?
  4. You will live in basic shared accommodation.
  5. Food uses local ingredients, is based on local standards, and therefore often repetitive and simple?
  6. Are you willing to stay and work for at least two (preferably three or more) weeks with our project?
  7. Are you able to converse, receive and understand instructions in Hindi and English (other working language) ?

Volunteers will be required to live in remote locations, in extremely basic camping conditions. Please describe any experience living in similar conditions:
Desired period of commitment / Date (minimum time 2 weeks):Volunteer assignments are possible between June until mid-October.

Project Preferences  
During their stay, volunteers will be allocated to one of the projects, but if needed, they may be requested to shift to another beach. Allocations will be based primarily on project needs, but staff will try to respect volunteer preferences and individual skills.
